Lost and then Found

"But then, somewhere in Oregon, as I sped along a river glinting in the sun, it hit me. The window was down, music was playing, and I felt more free than I had in months. I felt myself again—and I hadn’t even noticed that somewhere along the way I’d lost me. In that moment was all the joy and adventure and lust for life I had been missing, and I remembered why it is I travel. Because sometimes it is only in leaving home that we can remember who we are. It is only in getting lost, that we find ourselves again, whole."
